Vessels History | The vessel was designed and built in Fremantle by Australian shipbuilding Industries in 1983. This Success class designed prawn trawler has very successfully operated in the Northern Gulf of Carpentaria for almost 40 years.
In 2022 the vessel was extensively modified to move into the Timor Box Fish Trapping fishery out of Darwin. Refit took 7 months.
All the trawl gear and rigging has been removed the wheelhouse extensively redesigned to suit the trapping operation. The refit included replacing the main engine, gearbox, auxiliary engines & upgrading the wiring. The main freezer holds 20 tonnes of fresh fish.
The current owners have decided their larger Ali Catamarans are more suited to this fishery due to their large fish trap carrying capacity and are offering the Comac Enterprise for sale.
The vessel would be suitable for a range of fisheries including trapping, shark fishing and grey mackerel gill netting.
